Our church is governed by a group of members elected by the congregation as ruling elders. Together with the pastors (teaching elders), ruling elders form the Session, the governing body of our church. Using their unique gifts and callings, elders oversee different ministries of the church. In addition to elders, Deacons are elected to serve as the “caregivers” of the congregation. Trustees are elected officers called to manage property for the church—including accepting and executing deeds of title—and manage any permanent special funds. At Fairfax Presbyterian, we consider it a gift and joy to use our skills and talents to serve God’s church in different ways.
